When You're the One Responsible

A Frontline Leadership Story Survey

Real incidents. Real tradeoffs. Original answers.

Independent research for a leadership book. This is not an Assembly Ridge sales survey, a recruiting tool, an employer assessment, or a way to place respondents on a marketing list.

TimeAbout 15–20 minutes. Most questions ask for an original written response. You do not need polished writing — direct, specific answers are more valuable than leadership language.

Why this survey is differentFrontline leadership is often studied through ratings and agreement scales. This survey asks what actually happened when responsibility, limited authority, production pressure, employee needs, incomplete information, and organizational systems collided. There are no hypothetical “correct” answers.

Your situationsFor the situation questions, choose at least three that match experiences you have actually lived. You may answer more. Describe one specific incident rather than your general philosophy whenever possible.

Do not include company names, customer names, coworker names, exact locations, proprietary numbers, or details that could identify a person or employer. Change nonessential details when necessary.
